Voor de eerste fase van de renovatie van de buurthuizen van Brievengat, Gibraltar en Kustbatterij is een bedrag gemoeid van 1,6 miljoen gulden. Voor de tweede fase ,waar de buurthuizen van Buena Vista en Montanja worden gerenoveerd, is een bedrag van 2,5 miljoen gulden begroot.

De investering vangt aan in het dienstjaar 2018 en behelst een totale renovatie van de 4 buurtcentra in de wijken Brievengat, Kustbatterij, Buena Vista en Gibraltar. In de renovatie van de buurtcentra worden verpauperde delen gesloopt, electra-installaties vernieuwd, rioleringen en waterleidingen gereviseerd, termieten behandeld en geschilderd. De dakconstructie, vloertegels, sanitair, ramen en deuren worden vervangen. De renovatie is aan het hoofdgebouw inclusief sportveld en terreinomheining. Buurtcentrum Brievengat krijgt bovendien een nieuwe computerzaal.

In November 2020 is Betonbouw begonnen met de eerste fase, waarbij gelijktijdig met de renovatie van de 3 Sentro di Barios van Brievengat, Gibraltar en Kustbatterij is gestart.

Marine Kazerne Suffisant: Office Building and Garage Construction.

Op de Curaçaose Marinekazerne Suffisant worden opleidingen tot milicien gegeven. Daarnaast voert de kazerne het Sociaal Vormings Traject (SVT) op Curaçao uit en ondersteunt de kazerne eenheden bij nationale en internationale oefeningen. De kazerne is ook gastheer van het Vrijwilligers Korps Curaçao (VKC). Deze vrijwilligers zijn inzetbaar voor de handhaving van de openbare orde op het eiland.

Corendon Hotel Complex Construction

Corendon Hotel is a five-star hotel with 380 rooms and various facilities. The resort will provide employment opportunities for around 250 employees. Further 420 rooms have been developed and the last rooms are expected to be delivered by the end of 2020.

The first pile was driven as the start of the construction of the entrance building of the approximately 800-room five-star all-inclusive resort that Corendon Hotels & Resorts is developing in Curaçao.

Mr Rhuggenaath, Prime Minister of Curaçao, gave the go-ahead for the construction of the main building. This was done under the supervision of Corendon founder and hotel owner Atilay Uslu and development director Gunay Uslu.

In the first phase, Corendon is realizing a five-star hotel with 380 rooms, six swimming pools, 13 restaurants and bars, an aqua park, an amphitheater and a game and kids room. The opening of the first phase is planned for December 2019.

The construction of the entrance building, which will later adorn the skyline of the Pater Euwensweg, has started festively. The afternoon started with a speech from Atilay Uslu and Gunay Uslu. Atilay Uslu; “We have been working on the renovation for a couple of months. I am therefore very satisfied that Mr Rhuggenaath has hit the first pile of the building where we will welcome our guests soon.” Corendon started in 2018 with the renovation and expansion of the former Holiday Beach complex.

Samenwerkingsprojekt met van ‘t Hek

Heipalen slaan voor het Marriot Courtyard Hotel, Restaurants en Casino.

Courtyard by Marriott Hotel and Mega Pier Plaza will be developed in 2019 and 2020. This four-star hotel will have 152 rooms, with the possibility of adding an additional 40 rooms in the future. The hotel will offer a bar, two restaurants, and 5 meeting rooms. Moreover, Mega Pier Plaza has commercial spaces for shops, restaurants, and a casino. This project is being built next to SVB, opposite Megapier.

Wärtsilä – Aqualectra Power Plant Dokweg

The technology group Wärtsilä was awarded the contract to supply a 39 MW power plant to Aqualectra, the utility company of Curaçao.

The turnkey project provides much needed additional generating capacity and provide Aqualectra with the fast-starting capacity and flexibility needed to add more wind power capacity to the island’s system. The company already has more than 46 MW of installed generating capacity from wind energy and plans to add more renewable energy generation in the near future. The order with Wärtsilä was booked in October.

The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled to be delivered in mid-2018, and the plant is expected to be fully operational in November of that year.

The new plant will operate on four Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines running initially on heavy fuel oil (HFO), but switching to liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel at a later date. The Wärtsilä solution will add needed reliability to the grid, and when running on LNG will notably reduce the utility’s environmental impact. The plant will be equipped with continuous emissions monitoring capability.

“The reality is, we need more generating capacity to meet our growing demand for energy. And, given the focus we have put on increasing our renewable capacity, we are conscious of the fact that the output from wind power and solar are inevitably intermittent. Hence our requirement for a plant that can start quickly and ramp up to full output in a matter of minutes. The flexibility provided by the Wärtsilä engines will allow the necessary balancing, and is just what we need,” explained Mr. Darick Jonis, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Aqualectra.

“Aqualectra has been a customer of ours for more than 20 years, and they have two power plants from Wärtsilä already operating with a combined output of 96 MW. Naturally, we are honored to have again been selected to serve their needs with this Smart Power Generating unit,” commented Rodney George, Vice President, Caribbean, Wärtsilä Energy Solutions.

S.K.A.I.H. Trahando firme pa progreso

Opdrachtgever : Gobiernu di Kòrsou

Het nieuwe Skol Avansá Integrá Humanista (Skaih) in Emmastad is in july 2016 opgeleverd. Op 1 januari 2017 is de school in gebruik genomen. De school biedt ruimte aan meer dan 400 leerlingen en biedt Ago en VSBO maar ook een HAVO/VWO-opleiding.
Het nieuwe gebouw is een grotere scholengemeenschap die op de humanistische leest is geschoeid, waarbij moedertaal Papiaments de instructietaal is. Ook voor de toekomstige havo- en vwo-leerlingen.
De school werd opgericht door Frank Martinus Arion vanuit de humanistische filosofie. Leren vanuit de eigen taal, in dit geval het Papiaments, is een belangrijk onderdeel hiervan. Het ontwerp is van architectenatelier Lobo & Raymann. De groundbreaking vond in februari 2016 plaats door Betonbouw.
