Sandals Resorts International has announced that Sandals Royal Curaçao will welcome guests beginning April 14, 2022! This is the 16th Sandals Resort and the first Sandals on the island of Curacao. Curaçao is located in the southern Caribbean Sea about 40 miles north of Venezuela. The resort is located on forty-four oceanfront acres, boasting 351 luxurious rooms and suites only 15 miles from the airport. The West-Facing Resort will feature some of the most spectacular sunsets in all of the Caribbean.

Corendon Hotel Complex Construction

Corendon Hotel is a five-star hotel with 380 rooms and various facilities. The resort will provide employment opportunities for around 250 employees. Further 420 rooms have been developed and the last rooms are expected to be delivered by the end of 2020.

The first pile was driven as the start of the construction of the entrance building of the approximately 800-room five-star all-inclusive resort that Corendon Hotels & Resorts is developing in Curaçao.

Mr Rhuggenaath, Prime Minister of Curaçao, gave the go-ahead for the construction of the main building. This was done under the supervision of Corendon founder and hotel owner Atilay Uslu and development director Gunay Uslu.

In the first phase, Corendon is realizing a five-star hotel with 380 rooms, six swimming pools, 13 restaurants and bars, an aqua park, an amphitheater and a game and kids room. The opening of the first phase is planned for December 2019.

The construction of the entrance building, which will later adorn the skyline of the Pater Euwensweg, has started festively. The afternoon started with a speech from Atilay Uslu and Gunay Uslu. Atilay Uslu; “We have been working on the renovation for a couple of months. I am therefore very satisfied that Mr Rhuggenaath has hit the first pile of the building where we will welcome our guests soon.” Corendon started in 2018 with the renovation and expansion of the former Holiday Beach complex.

Courtyard by Marriott Hotel and Mega Pier Plaza will be developed in 2019 and 2020. This four-star hotel will have 152 rooms, with the possibility of adding an additional 40 rooms in the future. The hotel will offer a bar, two restaurants, and 5 meeting rooms. Moreover, Mega Pier Plaza has commercial spaces for shops, restaurants, and a casino. This project is being built next to SVB, opposite Megapier.

Renaissance Hotel Structural Work

Situated on the waterfront of Willemstad, near the well known Megapier cruise ship facility, is the Renaissance Curacao Resort & Casino with its 240 deluxe guest rooms and suites. The history of Curaçao is also reflected in the resort, as it is home to the legendary Rif Fort, a 178-year-old landmark designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site where eight restaurants and fifty retail boutiques can be found. The resort area is rounded out by a six-screen Cinema, Casino and a 570-car covered parking garage, offices, meeting areas, a manmade signature Eternity beach, boardwalk and park.
